Right Before My Eyes

How is it that you can actually see your baby getting big right in front of your eyes?
Growing up?
I don't like it, I don't like it one bit.
And to tell you the truth, I'm not good at accepting it at all, things changing...
I like things just the way they are.
Does it ever get any easier?
Sigh.

  1. I don't think it ever gets easier. My guy seems to be changing every day. I'd love for him to stay five forever (minus the little temper tantrums...) Let me know if you figure out how to get them to stop growing-up. ;-)

  2. Just signed my baby up for middle school on Friday. Oh how I miss those little girl days ... But couldn't e prouder of the young lady she is becoming. That makes all the growing up worth it. It will be ok.

  3. But it's one of the (if not THE) great joys of parenting! I love to watch them grow. The amazing things they come up with all on their own. It's my favourite bit. x

  4. Morning Amy,
I was reading your posts I had missed, with my pj's on, coffee in hand and my little girl watching Charlie and Lola, what a good way to start a cold morning, it's holiday week here, and reading your posts made me smile, hope you know you make people smile, cause you do, thanks for sharing your parts of your life, now I have to do my laundry...take care, Maureen x

  5. I wonder the same thing... you are prepared for the beauty of parenthood, but not the constant bittersweet such beauty comes with.

  6. No it never gets easier. Been putting make up on my girl for this play and it makes her look so much older. I just want to freeze time...which of course is impossible. You just have to accept that every season is a gift. When they are older they can share and talk, laugh and shop with you. That's pretty cool too.

  7. I keep thinking the same thing when I look at Lydia. She has lost that "little kid" look totally. She is all school age kid now. . .so hard!

It goes so fast! and doesn't get any easier!

  10. Although having them grow up to good people is our ultimate goal in parenting it's still hard to watch.

My oldest turned 12 in October. It's been rough. The flood of hormones and emotions from her have been hard to handle.

I could feel my heart break in 2 when she cried 'I just want to be little again!'

Then again we often feel our hearts breaking through many moments of their lives as they entwine with ours.

Being a Mama is hard. And so,so worth it.

  12. It is probably ONLY thing I don't like about motherhood!! I really struggle with how bittersweet it is. Everyday my aim is to be IN THE MOMENT, IN THE DAY... Just enjoying and savoring them now. I often get so worried about how FAST it goes i think that robs me of them Right now. Soooo hard sometimes.
