So the dreaded "I'm Going To Kindergarten" packet came home with Charlotte from
preschool this week.
Really? Didn't I just send one off to kindergarten? Do I really have to do this again?
I'm not ready. I am so not ready.
Here's the thing, the fairly obvious thing that I have learned;
It's not that I am worried about sending her off to school, anxious about how she will do or
that I have any concerns about our school of choice...it's just simply that I am not ready for it.
In other words, it's all about me.
Don't you love how I don't even pretend it's not?
I sat down tonight with a deep post in mind--one full of emotion, all about parenting and mothering
and our identities as women and mothers and...yeah, I just wasn't feeling it.
So this is all you get now on the whole kindergarten thing. You're welcome.
And did you notice that these are real pictures with my real camera as opposed to my phone?
I have gotten so lazy, using my iphone all of the time instead of my camera.
The other day we had a picnic in the park and luckily I did remember to bring my big camera.
I was so happy that I did too because it was a beautiful, perfect day weather-wise and for some
reason my girl was okay with my camera all in her face.
And my favorite from this series of pictures.
I can't seem to get the right size...either too big or not big enough.
I uploaded this one to photo bucket (which I never do)...any advice for me?
Anyone?
Oh, but you didn't think we were going to make it the whole post without phone pictures, did you?
Here's a little bit of my week in Instagrams...
1. making homemade noodles with my mom & cousins for Easter, 2. relaxing in the grass,
3. ready for bed
4. antique store find, 5. nursery rhyme week at school, 6. flowers from my sweet boy
1. oh lilacs, i love you. 2. wearing her dandelion chain, 3. at the park, 4. at the book store
5. love these trees!, 6. recess at school, 7. craft time, 8. snuggling in bed with the kids
1. flowers from my girl, 2. horse riding at k-mart, 3. good morning!
4. morning coffee, 5. playing at the park, 6. working on his art project for the school art fair
And my favorite picture captured with my phone this week; the kids in the tipi in our back
yard, made by daddy. Love the tipi and LOVE, LOVE the .50 sheets I thrifted.
Hope you have a fantastic Friday and a great weekend!

happy friday!
ReplyDeletethey are BEAUTIFUL in that last shot, especially!!!
love the ones with your REAL camera too! I haven't pulled mine out in a week, gotten lazy myself and now that mine are older, they aren't wanting the camera in their face 24/7. they didn't used to mind it at ALL!
I know what you mean, I really cried when my oldest went to kindy, and when my youngest went to first grade was REALLY hard because it was ALL day and I wanted my girl home!!!
hugs and have a great weekend!

Such a sweet post. Found you through InstaFriday & am now a new follower. The pictures of your daughter are gorgeous! And, I feel for you. Sending our kids off to school isn't so easy.. and realizing that they are in fact growing up :( is even harder. Looks like you had a great week. And what a GREAT pic of the kids in their teepee!
ReplyDeleteCame over from Insta-Friday. My daughter is in kindergarten. So great. But the girl drama. . . oh my word. Your daughter will do great and so will you.
ReplyDeleteYour kids are gorgeous. Love those beautiful blue eyes!
my favorite shot is actually the one of her, her mouth is slightly open....and i don't know if it's just me, but her face on the big one, the one you uploaded to photobucket, it looks a little blue tinged....of course it's probably just me and my non-calibrated screen :)
ReplyDeleteEver since I got my iPhone, I never use my real camera anymore. I'm going to dust it off SOON! Love the pics of your sweet girl and her dandelions. Have a good weekend girl!
