Good morning and Happy Tuesday to you.
Ready for coffee?
I am getting a bit of a late start this morning so I am ready.
It is another cold and dreary day around here, just like yesterday.
But not raining at least...yet.
Rain, cold and absolutely no sign of the sun. Blahhhh.

If we were really meeting for coffee this morning...
we would be in hats, scarves and gloves.
The gloves will be non-matching, most likely, but we will be in gloves.
I have such a hard time keeping track of all that stuff and finding a good spot for it.
This is when I really wish I had an entryway, I would be much more organized if I did.
Never mind the master bath and remodeled kitchen, give me a proper entryway.
Then all my problems would be solved. haha.

So how was your weekend? Did you have a nice Thanksgiving?
We had a wonderfully busy weekend and I have a confession:
I feel like I had a good portion of the weekend "off" as far as parenting goes.
Between shopping and a little photo shoot Saturday morning and friends in town that
I don't see very often,  I was not home much at all.
Luckily I have an awesome husband that kinda knows how this weekend goes every year
for me and is okay with it. Seriously. I am one lucky girl.

I would tell you that I have kinda finally found a morning routine that works for us. It it is
working for now but I know these things are always subject to change. I have started a no TV rule in
the morning until the kids have had breakfast, are dressed and ready with shoes on and
Wyatt's back pack is ready to go. When all of that is done and if there is still time they get to watch TV until we leave. Here is the exception: Wyatt usually gets up pretty early, before me,  so when he does that he can come lay in bed with me and watch TV for a while. When Charlotte gets up then we all go down for breakfast together. The thing is, we don't even leave for school until about 8:50 a.m. and we were still running around crazy which just didn't make any sense at all. This is working much better.

So I am cutting coffee short. I aam having trouble with blogger this morning
and I just lost the second half of my post. Grrrr. I have also been having trouble uploading
my pictures. I give up. Hope everyone has a great day. Thanks for joining me for coffee this morning.
Can you believe today is the last day of November? How did that happen!?

*PS- Check out this awesome Christmas card give-away at I Should Be Folding Laundry today.

  1. I love having other people around to help with the kiddos. Makes me appreciate those people and my kids more.

It's cold here too, but the sun is out. I can totally deal with winter when almost every day is so sunny and bright!

    Thanks for the coffee!

  2. Honestly, I don't know how tomorrow's the 1st of December.
    Crazy!!!
I can't stand tv in the morning either.
Hmmm. I made this wonderful yogurt coffee cake earlier with berries in it. Needless to say, it was gone pretty quick even though it was straight out of the oven.
Our thanksgiving was good. I don't think I've ever gone shopping on Black Friday....at least not that I can remember:)

  3. It's so nice to have those parenting breaks, isn't it? It just refreshed the soul and makes me just a little bit better of a mommy. :)

Thanks for coffee this morning. Sorry blogger is being a bugger. Hate it when that happens.

  4. I love the effect on your coffee pic.

I had a parenting break this weekend too. Actually, most of last week. My husband was home on vacation and took many of the toddler responsibilities. It was great. Kind of hard to get back in the swing of things this week though.

  5. Parenting breaks are the best. Until you're home the week AFTER Thanksgiving and your toddler doesn't understand that you have this neat thing called LIFE preventing you from filling the role that Grandma and Grandpa filled all weekend. :)

  6. I too have been having trouble with blogger. It will only let me download 2 pics at a time. This is my first Virtual coffee and I love it. Thanks for such a great idea!

  7. I turn on the news in the morning...but it's mainly to pace myself. We have to be out the door by 7am or we are screwed.

    It sucks.

But, it is what it is. December 18th I will be enjoying the start of two stress-free morning weeks. And I will savor every second.

Ya know...I think I would be a happier camper if things were like this summer. The Boy had therapy for his dyslexia three days a week and it began at 9am. If school were to begin at 9am I think I would do kartwheels out of bed each morning. Starting at 7:30 is torture.

  8. So glad you guys had a good weekend :) And there's nothing wrong with having an "off" weekend for yourself now and then... thank goodness for sweet husbands!

  9. I set alarms in the morning. Alarm #1 wake up. Alarm #2 breakfast time/cartoon time is over. Alarm #3 time to get clothes on, brush teeth, brush hair. Etc...

My kids are kind of run like the family von trapp! lol... So I get the whole morning routine thing.

Coffee was delightful as usual. :)

  11. amy, I swear we are living parallel lives. The No TV rule in the mornings has been a lifesaver here. Before that, it would be nag, nag, nag. No movement. Scream, scream, scream. Crying, crying, crying. Running to the bus stop. Everyone starting off the day with a crappy feeling. So not fun.
