All is calm...

all is bright.

I finished my shopping and errands today. Woohoo! What a relief.
Actually, I only had two little things to pick up and the rest of the day was spent running errands/shopping for my mom, for gifts she needed for other people. You know I had to call her after running around all day to ask her who her favorite daughter was. After much  a little prodding, she admitted that yes, in fact I was her favorite daughter.  For today. I am lucky that Charlotte is such a good little shopper and is not a complainer because I drug her around with me all day long. And a stop at Starbucks for coffee and petite vanilla bean scones for her  gave her more energy for the rest of the day she told me. Whatever works.

There is still much to be done around here like finishing the rest of my baking tomorrow morning and then the three of us delivering some of our treats tomorrow. Today was the last day of school until January 10. Yay! I can't believe I am this excited for Christmas break... when I am not in school or working in a school....but I am. Eric is also off all next week on vacation so I am looking forward to lots of time at home with my little family.

I hope you are having a great week. I am still trying my best to enjoy it and not freak out and
I think I am doing a pretty good job.  For now.
I read this post this morning and it made me smile. It also made me feel like crying, too...in a good, nostalgic way. I told Dani that my sentimental soul just loves stories like that. I love hearing about how other people celebrate the holidays, their family traditions and Christmas memories.
And I am doing my best to make this season magical for my kids as well as remembering
to see the magic that is all around me.
Happy Wednesday, y'all.

  1. This whole month has been kind of strange.
It was a bit more calm, relaxed, and enjoyable before December hit.
I mean, I haven't painted a canvas since the beginning of this month!!! Gah!
