one day last week i felt like we had to get out of the house before somebody snapped.
the fighting and whining was at an all-time high and this mama had had her fill.
so we picked up lunch and took it to a park.
it was a beautiful sunny day, not too hot or humid with a sky full of big, fluffy clouds.
definitely not a day to be inside.
the part of the park we were in was empty.
we went into the rock garden and the kids played ninjas, they found a little "fort" to play in.
charlotte was a ninja princess.
no fighting.
no whining.
just running and exploring.
gathering pinecones, discovering caterpillars and seeing too many butterflies to count.
on the way home, the kids said they had so much fun and wanted to know could we please
go back tomorrow?
please mommy? please mommy? please mommy? please mommy?
these are the little moments that get me through the rest of the days and other moments.
you know, the ones where you want to start drinking at noon...or eat a whole pan of brownies
yourself...or run far, far away all by yourself?
yep, those.
you do know about those, don't you?
i can deal with those moments if i have a lovely little moments like this every once in a while.
happy monday to you!!!
You really did capture a great afternoon of wonderful moments!! Your photography is beautiful. Yes, I have been having a lot of whining, etc amongst my kids now that summer is winding down and school hasn't begun yet-- very smart move of you to take them to a park! I thoroughly enjoyed your photos :0)

ReplyDeleteThank you for this. The little things aren't so little. Needed to be reminded of that today.
ReplyDeleteLoved that during the fighting/whining moments you took them to the park. Where as I lately have just been grumpy. Yuck! So today I will follow your lead and take my kids to do something fun and distracting! Blessings to you!
