This is what Charlotte and I did Friday night while Wyatt had a friend sleep over.
We stayed upstairs and painted our nails and watched Narnia while the boys had an
Indiana Jones/Minecraft marathon in the living room/

Hey there.
Happy Friday from Central Illinois where it is almost   FIFTY DEGREES  today.
Yes, I really just said that.... 50* and sunny today ... and I couldn't be happier!

So I didn't even last a day on my whole "Week In The Life" thing I talked about in my last post....
not even one damn day.
Instead of half-assing it and not really do a great job I just let it go and decided instead that I will do A Day In The Life
this coming Saturday March 8.
A DAY in the life should be doable... very doable I think. I hope.
I will attempt to document the day, the whole day, in pictures and notes and I will blog about it on Monday March 10.
My blogging/IG friend Tara is doing it, too... which is good because I can definitely use the encouragement.
Don't let me fail, Tara! 

I think I can totally do a day though... and a daily self-portrait challenge, I've already taken a self-portrait(I kinda hate the word selfie...
I''m too old for that) every day in March so far.
I'm also looking for some other good ideas for a year-long project... just ONE photo a day with my iphone or Nikon.
A Not-Quite-365, if you will.
Are you doing one or have you seen any cool ideas for one?
I need some GREAT ideas!

So for tomorrow I am charging up my Nikon and I am ready to document our whole day.
I would LOVE to make it into a small book when I am done.
I am excited about tomorrow because we are going to watch the Polar Plunge tomorrow and tomorrow night the kid's cousins are
spending the night with us.
It should be a fun day!

I Did It!

Yep, I did it.

I stuck it out and actually finished a Week In The Life... the whole entire week.

I didn't miss ONE day,  didn't accidentally fizzle out or purposely throw in the towel

 because I was over it. I kinda do that a lot. 

I finished the whole week and I am really kinda proud of myself.

I didn't do probably as much as I wish I would have and I could have taken a lot more pictures

 of certain things, but for my first time participating, I am actually just really proud

 of myself for not quitting... that's HUGE for me.

Now to decide what exactly I am going to do with this week's worth of photos.

Week In The Life + Monday Stuff

Hello there.
Today is Day 1 of  Week In The Life.
Are you familiar with Ali Edwards' Week In The Life project?
I have always wanted to do it but never have-- mostly because I thought I really wouldn't follow through with it, and why start if you
are going to fail?
Sadly, that is my theory on a lot of things in my life... WAY TOO MANY, really.
That is something I do not like at all about myself, and something that needs constant work-- but that's
a whole other post for another day.
But this year I am determined to do it... to start it and to finish it... I am doing it.
Are you doing it? It's not too late to start even if you weren't planning on it, ya know.
When I am done with this week,  I am thinking about making a book online(any suggestions/sites?) as opposed to more of a scrapbook format.

Other Monday things....

-Today there is no school, it is a Teacher In-Service day and only a 3-day school week for us
-We are still in our pajamas and might just stay that way all day long
-I had a second phone interview for a job today right in my dining room in my pajamas!
-We are going on our annual family trip to a State Park in Indiana this week, so much to do before Friday!
-It is hot... 95* on September 9 and supposed to be like this all week.... Ugh
-Tonight is Library Night... Eric always takes the kids to the library on Monday nights, I stay home(and not just because of my library fines, I promise)
-My head is spinning a little bit with the possibility of a job, but no matter what happens, this little  process has been a good thing for me.

A Week In The Life

This week I am going to do this; A Week In The Life.
I have wanted to before but it always seems just a little overwhelming, maybe too much of a commitment...
but then again I already do take pictures every day.
So I am doing it, starting today...starting right now.

The only thing I really need to do different than what I am already doing is to take notes on
our daily activities, chores, etc and then actually go print my pictures.
Why is that the hardest thing for me to do?

As with many of the projects I have created, the documentation process is just as (and maybe more) important than the creative process of actually putting the album together. Most likely you will learn something about yourself over the course of this project. I learn something new every time.
