Snapshot :: That First Leaf

Oh, that first leaf of the season.
The first leaf in the process of changing, not quite finished... really just getting started.
This one was spotted last weekend in Indiana.
The kids were all climbing the tree they were falling from and when one of them picked one up
and twirled it around from the bottom of the stem, I got a quick picture.
It's perfect. The light, the first leaf, the season to come.

Tuesday Night Snapshot

Tuesday night.
Parent-Teacher conferences at school.
This was the first year for "student-led" conferences at our school(not sure if this was a new thing?) and this boy took it
pretty seriously.
The dress shirt, the hat, clip-on tie and the handkerchief in his pocket.
Not pictured is his pocket watch.

Even better than this awesome photo is how cute he was presenting his conference.
They had to write up goals and decide which areas they need to improve and how they plan to do it.
I am so proud of him and not just for his grades but for being a good student-nice, respectful, helpful, for always trying his
hardest and for just being himself.

This boy makes this Mama so very proud.

Snapshots :: The Cabin

Fresh air.
Wide open spaces.
Peace and quiet.
Nature.
Walks.
Deep breaths.
Time to think.
Happy kids.

The Cabin is always a good idea.
Always.
So thankful to have this little place to enjoy with my family.

So, they say that it's officially SPRING now,  like as of yesterday.... hmmmm....
Not quite sure I am buying it, seeing that it was a whole 28* here yesterday,  but we are doing our best to make it
feel like Spring inside anyway.
It ain't easy though.
A few snapshots of some of my favorite corners and favorite things around here...

Today we are headed down to the Cabin and although it's probably just as cold there as it here, I am really looking forward
to a change of scenery. I really think we all can use it.
And you better believe I will be Instagramming from the Cabin... as long as we have service in the country.

{ Snapshots }

Life lately has been falling leaves and chillier weather and birthday parties and a 

million school things... a walk through the cemetery, a trip tot the children's museum, a family 

movie outside, practicing with a new bow & arrow set, lots of baking 

and lots and lots of Legos.

This week is definitely slower than last week, thankfully.

We are trying to enjoy this beautiful weather and all of the trees before they lose all of 

their leaves... it won't be too long.

I think today might just call for a caramel apple with nuts, I haven't had one yet this Fall.
