{Wanderlusting}

Wednesday, October 22, 2014

I might have made up that word; Wanderlusting.
Wanderlust : Strong longing for or impulse toward wandering.

Yep.
A strong longing for... that's me.
And that's how I feel lately... Actually that's how I have been feeling for quite some time.
I feel like the older I get the more I feel this way... which is kind of weird because one might think you would feel this way when you
were younger and were actually able to do more wandering.
Right?

But anyway.
This is kinda what I dream of.
Of going... travelling... just wandering really.
By myself, with the kids, with my family, with my friends... all of it and any of it really.
Just to go.
To explore and adventure.
To see.

My longing to see and explore and for adventure is nothing outrageous or exotic really.
I am content with wandering an hour away from home, or three hours away from home if that is all that I can squeeze into my life right now, but I definitely dream of bigger trips and adventures, too.
I dream of exploring new cities and States with the kids, of exploring little towns and big towns and all that they are made up of.

I am currently daydreaming of a trip to Nashville and am working on a post all about what I want to do and and see there...
I think it's gonna be a pretty long list!
Please let me know if you are familiar with Nashville or have any suggestions for me.
Daydreaming is really kinda fun.
And Nashville is close enough that I could actually pull that off.... it would be an awesome Road Trip adventure for sure.

Where are you daydreaming of visiting?
Where would you Road Trip to?
Who would you go with?

*All these photos were taken in St. Louis, my favorite close-ish place to adventure to, by the way.

St. Louis In Instagrams

Saturday, August 9, 2014

Since I'll have more pictures from another little last minute Summer get-away to St.Louis next week, I thought of share
these from the end of July.  {I started this post back then...}

::::::::::::::::::

Last weekend we spent a very   H   O   T   and fun couple of days in St.Louis.
And when I say hot that doesn't even begin to describe the suffocating humidity, but even with that, it was so much fun.
BUT MAN,  IT WAS HOT.
Like sitting on a bench under a tree and having sweat run down you back all the way to your butt
kind of hot.
Ewww.
Yep, I said it. And yep, it happened.

Any little break from reality is always good as far as I am concerned though, even if it's only for a few days.
Weekend get-aways that are not too, too far from home are easy and not stressful and pretty much my favorite thing ever.

Just a few of my favorite things about this mini Road Trip...

Stopping for donuts at Casey's on our way out of town
Little House On The Prairie marathons
Gas station snacks + candy
Looking for out of state license plates
Coffee for the road
Having actual uninterrupted conversations while the kids watch LHOTP with their headphones on

St. Louis in Instagrams....

The Missouri Botanical Gardens are beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.
I want to go back for a day by myself, just me and my camera.
I think I could spend forever there if it wasn't 500*.

Ahhhhhhh......
Beautifully amazing place. So cool.
And the Lego sculptures were seriously one of the coolest things I have ever seen, like ever.
I need to do a separate post on that soon though.
I am definitely a Lego mom, but even if you aren't?
Amazing stuff.

Exploring the city....

Oh, St. Louis... I do love you.

Little(And Big) Adventures

Monday, January 13, 2014

Oh. Sigh.
Just look at these photos and try to tell me that they don't make you want to jump on a plane or in a car and just go somewhere...
A N Y W H E R E .

Can you even stand all of these gorgeous pictures?
Go see more on her blog as well as her beautiful illustrations + her lovely shop, that little blog of hers is so inspiring, I just wanna jump right into it!

The older I get the more I long for more adventures- in the form of trips and get-aways and seeing brand new places.
You would think that maybe this would be something I would have had when I was younger, single, without a family... but no, it just
hits me now more than ever, in the last couple of years.

I'm dreaming of big, long, far-away trips... short, simple, close-to-home day trips.... all of it.
Pretty much anywhere that is away and different and new.
This year I plan on doing more of this and intend on taking some day trips by myself with just my camera, because that sounds like an
absolutely perfect way to spend a day to me.
Traveling(anywhere) more + making plans for future trips is a big GOAL of mine for 2014.

So, where would you go if you had....

A day?
A week?
Two weeks?
A tiny budget?
No budget?

::::::::::::::::

Hope you have a fantastic Monday.... where ever the day takes you!

Come back tomorrow for Coffee with me...
I think it's time for the first Virtual Coffee date of 2014.
