I have had my fair share of oranges, apples, bananas, broccoli, cauliflower, tomatoes, grapefruit, lettuce, spinach, carrots, pineapple, avocados, beans, raw almonds, peanut butter and honey. I mean, probably enough for everyone reading this, really. So I made it to Friday with the detox, I actually did it. I'm really pretty surprised that I was able to because if I had to bet on it I would have bet that I'd of cracked before Friday for sure. Oh wait-I can't lie, I almost forgot that by Thursday afternoon, when I was on Day 4 of the headache, I decided I couldn't take it anymore, had to have caffeine, went to make myself some coffee and we were out. Ha. That's what I get, I suppose. And don't think that for a second I didn't consider dragging the kids out of the house, driving across town to Starbucks and getting that coffee, because I totally did. But I didn't.
* On a side note: see that jar on the table in the first picture? A couple of years ago we went to a family reunion at some distant relatives of Eric's that I had never met before and it was an old house out in the country with lots of land and a really cool location. Anyway, something was said about going in to look at these old jars she had that belonged to some other family member, they were used for delivering milk to hospitals a long time ago (right up my alley) so we went in and ..............the lady was a hoarder. Like on the show. Junk, garbage everywhere, stacked about three feet high against the walls, piled on the stove, counters, everywhere. I'm mad now that I didn't get more jars, I think I left with three but I just couldn't stay in there, it totally freaked me out. And then I realized we were eating food that was made inside the house...ugh. But I did get my cute little jars that say "Hospital Use Only", totally worth it.
Awesome score...and story to go with it.
ReplyDeleteI want to know more about this detox. I am a glutton for punishment. Hearing you talk about how awful it has been has strangely made me want to do it. Bring it on.
Oh...and congrats on making it to Friday.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on making that long.. I know I couldn't do it.
ReplyDeleteI've watched that show before and it scares me! My boyfriend does heating and cooling installs and went to a house like that. They could hardly move. I'd like to see the jar closer up though!
me, too! i want more info on the detox and a better look at that jar. i get anxious just looking at the hoarders show on tv, i can't imagine actually being inside a house like that. i might send me into a panic attack. i like things neat and tidy. but, i do think it would be fun to rummage through some of their crap!
ReplyDeletegood job, I wouldn't have made it that long. great story.
ReplyDeleteYes, more details on the killer detox. (What does this say about the people that read your blog, hmmm) I'm impressed you made it as long as you did, more power to you!
ReplyDeleteYou did it. Mission accomplished. I hope you feel better and that it was worth it.
ReplyDeleteNow about that jar....The temptation would have been mighty great to take a few more. I'd have my regrets afterward too. But at least you have one and can treasure it forever.
Maybe I will do a post about it this week, I'm back at it tomorrow! Thanks for the support, gotta get some weight off this big tail of mine somehow! :D
ReplyDeleteI love that jar story. I want some old jars, but I still can't find any. I spent all day thrifting (except for DSW) and I still haven't found any. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteThat detox sounds crazy and totally not up my alley. But I would like to hear more details. Like was it worth it?
Congrats on your massive willpower, Amy! You're a better woman than I...I totally would have dragged the kids across town to Starbucks! Cute pictures!
ReplyDeletePLEASE DO A POST ABOUT THE DETOX!!!!
ReplyDeletepretty please
You've got some willpower there girl. Congrats - and keep going. Hope the headaches subside. Another great shot of your lovely linen collection. My husband says I'm just one "find" away from being on that hoarders show. I hope he's kidding, but I kind of think he's not (and no....I'm no-where near that bad...yet).
