You thought it was going to be a picture of a margarita, didn't you? Well, I'm not gonna lie, those definitely help, but that's not what I'm talking about today.
My mother's little helper? Two very simple but oh-so-important things:
Sunshine and Fresh Air.

With Spring about to make it's official debut I feel like I can do it, there is hope. Okay, that might sound a little dramatic but the Winter has been long...really long. I can handle being cooped-up in the house only so long. And with two very busy little ones that I spend every day with, being able to go outside makes all the difference in the world to us. And the SUN...good lord, the sun. I know I've said it before but the sun makes a world of difference it my mood and attitude towards the day. Okay, so the sun alone isn't going to solve everything, I would also love a little free time, a date night with the husband to see Alice In Wonderland, a housekeeper, Starbucks delivered to my door each morning, a vacation...but for right now, today, the sun is making us all very happy (so much so that I momentarily forgot about my hair).
So tell me, what helps you get through the day?

I don't think that's dramatic. There's a reason I was born and raised in Texas and that reason is that a long winter would probably kill me. I hope all your days are sunny from here on out!
ReplyDeleteWell I'm sure that Starbucks delivered to my front door every morning would help a lot too.. it's not going to happen. We should make it happen though.. because somehow coffee brewed at home never tastes the same.
ReplyDeleteReally what gets me through the day is sometimes staying in the car a little longer to finish listening to a favorite song.. or calling someone randomly just tell them I love them.. that always makes my day better to make someone's day better..if that makes any sense.
Mmmm yes...sunshine and fresh air can do wonders! I'm still dreaming about that bit about the housekeeper and Starbucks delivery...they should seriously consider that!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite books a while back (when Kendall was just a toddler) was "The 3 Martini Playdate". I laughed all the way through it - thinking it was sooo outlandish, when deep down inside, I didn't see all that much wrong with the idea. Not willing to go quite that far - locking myself in the bathroom (for a bath or just some time away) always seems to help. Even now - when the bathroom door is closed - step away from Mommy!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy that spring, my friend!
I am so glad the sun is shining for you! We have had an amazing week of gorgeous weather. It just makes everything better. I want Starbucks delivered to my front door.
ReplyDeleteWhat gets me through the day is coffee, seeing my girls play together, lots of prayer & knowing that I get a glass of wine when the girls are in bed :)
I want to get that book that Karina mentioned (3 Martini Playdate!!!)
There is NO WAY I could live somewhere with a real winter. The colder than normal winter we had this year nearly killed me! Our weather has been so lovely lately - the kids outdoors with the doors open has been bliss. Okay, now I'm craving a margarita ;-)
