{Virtual Coffee}

Hey there.
If we were really meeting for coffee this morning I would tell you...

That this morning I slept in, made homemade waffles and have been sitting around watching cartoons
with the kids while drinking my coffee.
I love these old Tom & Jerry cartoons, one of my very favorites.

That I googled county fairs in my area and think I found one to take the kids to tomorrow.
The bad thing? It's supposed to be in the upper 90's the rest of the week.
But I really want to take them....but the heat...ugh....

Eric has stripped all of the wallpaper off of our kitchen walls now.
Time to pick a paint color.
70's avocado green or a pumpkiny orange?
That's where I am right now but I'm open to suggestions.

Kindergarten orientation is 2 weeks from tomorrow,  meet with the teacher and all that jazz.
On my birthday. That's just wrong.
Actually it would be more wrong if the first full day of school was on my birthday.
I'm wondering how much longer this whole denial thing is going to work.

The last week I have been fantasizing about pumpkins, corduroy jackets, apple butter,
cute new boots and apple orchards.
This heat is really getting to me.

Oh and my parent's pool?
Needs a new pump and they have decided not to fix it, so...no more swimming for us this summer.
I am seriously bummed.

And what about you?
Whatcha got for me this Tuesday morning?
Complaints? Family drama? New recipe? New blogs to drool over? Mid-life crisis?
I'm listening.

  2. I'm getting excited for fall too, it's my favorite season. I just got my daughter some shoes with pictures of snowflakes on them, and she's wearing them today. I'm sorry about the pool pump being broken. I'm in a hotel room right now.

  3. Oh fall!!! Yum :)
I say orange for the kitchen. But that's just me...
If we were having coffee today, I'd tell you how freaking nervous I am for later this week. How I would like an endless supply of chocolate. And how I would love it if Fynn could nap without then being awake until 10pm ;)

  4. I love fall, too. It's my favorite season, actually, but right now I'm just dreading the end of summer. I'm not ready for it to be over, yet.

I love Tom and Jerry, too, especially the one where Tom sings "Is you is, or is you ain't my baby?" to that pretty cat. *love, love, love*

Green, green, green! I always go for green.

  6. I vote avocado green.

I love fall, but I'm just not ready to go there yet. Even though the heat has been oppressive more than usual this summer I'll take it over school schedules.

  7. I agree. Where I live - it has been in the 90's every day for the past month. Pretty much EVERY day. uggh. I have been staying indoors as much as possible. I am sooo excited for leaves, pumpkins, apple cider, apple butter making, fall festivals...*sigh* Yeah. I totally understand. :)

  11. Green. No doubt.

I'd tell you that summer is ending and I'm very sad over that fact. I'm not ready for the rat race.

It took me almost 2 hours to catch up on my Google Reader...and I was gone less than a week! I didn't even leave the quality or quantity of comments that I usually do.

I've started cooking again...after a couple weeks off it is both nice and not nice. Better get used to it. Reality is now in full swing.

  12. Oh, hot+fair, not a good combo, but oh so fun!

I got jury duty on my first day of school and thought was bad, but to rub in that your baby is going to school on your birthday, no bueno :)

  13. I love all things autumn....Especially getting the kids back to school (it will get easier, you'll see). By this time, they are bored out of their minds and need school. I need the break and cooler temps. Sorry about the pool.

  14. I would tell you... that I have been working on painting my kitchen table the last couple of days. I have fabric on my dining room table waiting for me to make a baby gift with. I agree with you that the heat is a little too hot for me, and I am eagerly waiting for some cool Fall weather...pumpkin carving, leaves falling, and pumpkin pie always sound heavenly to me! :)
I also know how hot fairs can be in the Summer. But the cool drinks, ice cream cones, corn on the cob, animals, and rides will all be wonderful memories for your kiddos!!!
Make sure to post pics of your painting. Both colors sound great. I love your mug photos too! :)
