{Virtual Coffee}

Tuesday, August 24, 2010

It's Tuesday.
Time for a (nother) cup of coffee.
So go grab a cup and join me for Virtual Coffee this morning  afternoon.
And if we were really meeting for coffee this morning I would tell you...

*that this morning called for a trip to Starbucks since we had to pass right by it to get to Target anyway. Instead of my usual I got a Skinny Cinnamon Dolce Latte. Hmmm...I think I'll stick with my regular mocha next time. Starbucks is just too expensive for me to be test-driving a new flavor and while it was okay it wasn't what I was looking for.

* that after Target & coffee for me and petite vanilla bean scones & milk for my little partner, we met up with my sister, went to the park, ate lunch and made a quick trip to Pier 1. It was a good morning.

* today was Day #3 of Kindergarten and so far it is going well. I have volunteered to help with dismissal in the afternoon for the first two weeks so I have been around checking things out. I'm glad to be able to see a little of what they are doing in class,  how Wyatt is doing and I have learned that I really like his teacher. A lot. So far, so good.

* i saw Eat Pray Love over the weekend. I liked it. A lot. I liked the book a lot too but they were very different, as expected. I had already kind of tried to separate the book and movie in my mind and tried not to even compare them at all. It pretty much worked. And I have two words for you:

*I intended, I said intended, to add a link-up thingy on here so that if anyone else wants to link up to
Virtual Coffee on their blogs they can. I think it would be a fun way to visit other blogs and just have coffee all week, or all day long at different places. The only reason I have hesitated to do it before (besides figuring out the linky-thing which really is the main reason!) is that I think it would be kinda pathetic if the linky-thing sat there empty, not linked-up at all. Haha.

* that the rest of the week the temps here are supposed to be in the low 80's. LOW 80's! I am so excited and am looking forward to opening all the windows and  turning the a/c off tonight. Wooot!

Well, that's it for me today.
What about you?
Please, do tell.
I'm listening.

  2. i love that you did a linky! i'll link up later i the week if it's still open.

so glad to hear that you like his teacher and that you guys had a good day. i feel the same way about starbucks. i stick with a skinny 2 pump vanilla latte every time, except when pumpkin spice lattes and peppermint lattes come out for the holidays.

if we were meeting for coffee i'd tell you that i finished fixing up my chairs and now i feel like taking a long nap. i'd also tell you that i'm crazy jealous that it's going to be in the 80's where you live. around here we are in a heat advisory. still.

  3. You sound good, Amy! And your day sounded great! I totally wish we had a Starbucks...well, we do...but it's on campus and not conveniently located. Did I tell you this before...how I'd be this crazy mom who drug all her kiddos out, walked a mile, juggled them all in and out of Starbucks...all for a stinkin' five dollar latte! But don't think that I haven't though about it!

Oh...and I would love to link up! Will it be up all week?

  6. That coffee does sound nice, but I am usually disappointed when I branch out at Starbucks. I always head back to my Vanilla Latte!

And - you did add a linky thing! What fun. I may try to link in when I am having my next cup of Jo! Tomorrowish :D

  7. Oh my word, that's a sweet coincidence that the pics I took today were totally coffee...
    LOL
Well, it kinda IS, considering my camera is misplaced at the moment! Heh heh.
Thank GOD for Mom's nice Canon.... :)
Aw, so happy Kindergarten is going well! That's exciting, dear. :)
Um, yeah. The cinnamon drink doesn't sound all that hot. I kind of stick to basics...I'm slightly a creature of habit. I just might link up! Prayerfully will pack some thoughtful time in here before midnight. LOL. It's 9:22pm.

Oh, and the vanilla bean scones sound amazing.
And the pic of her climbing the tree in her dress?? Adorable!

  8. I gotta have coffee and go today...I'm in the trenches of kindergarten.

I'd love your help at dismissal. Ours has been *insane*. One of my little ones got tired of waiting for her ride and decided to sneak off. She went back to my room "to play". Nice.

    I had a heart attack.

I'm glad your little guy is adjusting well. After the first week or so it becomes old hat. The routine sets in and the jitters are gone.

I want to see EPL...but I'll wait for DVD. And yes, Javier is *smokin'*.

  10. New follower, for I am a lover of coffee & chit chat any day

I concur, starbucks is far too expensive to TRY all different flavors. I'm a carmel macchiato girl myself.

    Also... Javier- Mmmmmm!

I look forward to reading more!

  15. Yeah -- kindergarten is good! My kids need to get back to school. Late nights, late wake-ups -- yes, we're ready for a change. And I'm sleeping like a log with this cool weather. Heat makes me cranky.

  17. I saw Eat, Pray, Love too. Really liked it. Made me want to travel and take pictures. The scenery alone was worth the ticket price for me. :)
