{Virtual Coffee}

Grab your cup and join me this morning, or this afternoon,
whenever you have a little time... for Virtual Coffee.
I am having a homemade mocha with Christmas sprinkles. Because everything tastes just
a little better with sprinkles, right? Especially Christmas sprinkles.
So, if we were really meeting for coffee this morning....

I would tell you that today we plan to make applesauce-cinnamon ornaments.
Have you ever made them? They are the super easy, literally just applesauce and cinnamon.
Mix it up, using more cinnamon than applesauce until you get the right consistency.
Roll it on and grab all of your cookie cutters.
That's all, super easy.
It's sticky and a bit messy but so much fun and the ornaments smell really good.
We made these every year at school when I was working and I have always made
 them with the kids, too.
We never baked them, just air-dried them while continually turning them over so they dry on both sides.
*Remember to poke a hole through the top for a string before they dry.

We have been busy, busy, busy making and baking and crafting around here.
Spray paint, a glue gun, glitter... all the supplies are out and the kids are eager to help.
Sometimes even a bit too eager.
Don't be fooled, there is still much to be done before Saturday though. eeek.
I'm getting nervous realizing how little time there is left...

If we we were really meeting for coffee this morning I would tell you that I might have just stumbled across my new favorite Christmas treat to make. I can't take the credit, I found it here. These are
so good and so easy and although I love the  chocolate dipped peanut butter/Ritz crackers I usually
make I was looking for something different and a little less time consuming.
These were just what I was looking for. Plus I just love the smell of peppermint, I'm not gonna lie.

If we were really meeting for coffee today I would tell you....
thank you so much for the love and kind words on my last post. Oh, I always want to go
right back and push "delete" on those kind of posts but I didn't. Thank you, thank you.
Well, now I need to get my tarp, spray paint and staple gun out out because it's time
to get down to business! Wish me luck!

I hope everyone has a great week. Keep repeating to yourself like I am;
"I will not freak out. I will not freak out..."
Link up for coffee today, we would love to come visit you, too!

  1. i will not freak out! we are having a shindig in a little more than 48 hours & I still have to de-clutter the house, figure out the menu, buy the food & beverages & somehow make my place seem homey & elegant! and i am fighting a mother of a cold. i can do it! this is why i don't like to entertain, i wait till the last minute & then try like the dickens not to freak out. think candlelight (so no one will notice the dust bunnies or "not so clean" windows or paint that needs painted!)

i will remember to greet everyone warmly & refill drinks often & it should be a whole lotta fun! i made sure to keep the list manageable with around 10 couples. i will be back next week to let you know the results!!

have a great week Amy & thank you for hosting coffee! hugs, Cathy

  2. Thanks so much for hosting this! It's my first week doing it, and I hope I did it right! Good luck with getting ready for the holiday, it really is a busy time, but I'm sure it will all work out. And I've never made those ornaments before. I'll have to try them out. Thanks again!

  8. Wow, I'll be careful not to sit in one spot for too long in case I get stamped, sewn or painted. Ah, sprinkles...they will cure a million ills, including the pre-Christmas freak-out.

  9. I will not freak out! Even though the snow won't stop and I still need to get out and do some shopping but HATE driving in the snow.

  10. Crafting is in full swing over here as well. Although, I skip the glitter here at home. I did my glitter duty while at school. (Hate the stuff...an OCD sufferer's nightmare.)

Can't wait to see what you came up with!

  11. I'm finishing up my baking today. Evan has asked for a couple more batches of cookies and I still have some I need to hand out anyway.

Love the ornament idea! I haven't done that in years! Perhaps I will have to do that this year...cause I totally need another thing on my list of to-dos...
