This week....

It has been a gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous week here.
So we walk.
And talk.
Get a little exercise.
Clear our (my) heads.
Look for treasures.
Count pumpkins.
Pick up a million leaves.
Then take a million pictures of said leaves because they are falling fast, folks.

And in other news.....

it is pajama day at school today
charlotte had her halloween parade yesterday at school
i have room mother duties this afternoon
we have had a few rainy-ish days this week
we need to carve pumpkins this weekend
but first need to go to the pumpkin patch (oops)

wyatt & cousin ella

we made a trip to the library yesterday and i came home with a big stack of books and movies
i think tonight might be a curl up on the couch and watch a movie with a bottle of wine kinda night
i woke up with bob marley in my head this morning...

Just a little glimpse of our week.
One of those weeks where you feel like you have been pretty busy but then you see
all you didn't get done.
Oh well.

Also one of those weeks where I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror and wonder where
in the hell all those wrinkles came from.
What?!?
Kind of annoying if you ask me.
Might need to make that two bottles of wine.....
Hope everyone has a great weekend...happy Friday, y'all!!

  7. Amy, I would like you to come to my house and photograph our week and the things around us. You have quite the eye, lady. And those leaves?! Swoon!

Now, please know, I am a huge Anita Diamant fan. I want to meet her and be instant bff. I've read Last Days of Dogtown and ended up falling in love with it more than I thought I would. I would love to know what you thought when you are done because I don't know anyone else who's read it.

  8. So many remarkable photos here, Amy. I love them all but particularly the one of the iron fence (go figure). The leaves are suddenly falling fast here too. After a mild autumn and a few nice colours, we have had a few consecutive nights of hard frosts and down they are coming. Ah yes, but halloween is almost upon us and they should be down by now. Don't eat too much candy between now and next virtual coffee and - WHAT wrinkles?! In the mirror we see what others don't, and we focus on the nasty, all the while others are focusing on how much light our eyes shine, how our smile lights up a room, how much is going on in our heads that comes through an expression. And all we see is a scar or a freckle in a wrong place or a bag under an eye. I don't know why but we are more often than not incapable of seeing the bigger picture of who we are. And all the while other people see it and marvel and ooh and aah over our magnificence and we just say "pshaw". Am I babbling? I guess so. But you are beautiful and you see beauty all around you and share it and THAT makes your own light shine stronger.

  9. Did you watch Revolutionary Road? Did you enjoy it? I read it the book long ago, but I haven't watched the movie.
