Hellllooooo.
Good Morning and Happy Let's-Get-These-Kids-Back-To-School-Day!
It is Tuesday morning and I really, really had to drag myself out of bed early to get this day off to a decent start for all of us--
the first day back to school after a long break is always a tough one.
Especially for me, I'm not gonna lie.

So-- grab a cup of coffee and sit down for a little chat with me.

If we were really meeting for coffee this morning...
I would have to be completely honest and tell you that I am ready for school to be back in and for
us all to get back into more of a normal schedule around here.
And I'm NOT even going to apologize for it, I'm just saying it. There.
I think with all of us being sick for so long right before the holidays and the kids missing so much school I wasn't exactly
looking as forward to our holiday break as much as usual.
Again, just being honest... no apologies.

So the kids are across the street at school and I am here in my quiet house with a to-do list a mile
long and that is okay with me-- more than okay.

So, tell me, how was your weekend?
Saturday night the kids stayed at their grandparent's house and we got to have a much-needed date night. Finally.
Finally!
It felt like it had been a really long time since the last one... like, way too long.
So we went to see Lincoln, because I had pretty much threatened Eric that I was gonna be really mad
if I missed it at the theater, and then out to dinner.
Have you seen Lincoln?
What did you think?
I thought Daniel Day-Lewis was amazing and the movie was really good.
Now I am wanting a really good book to read about the Lincoln's, the 13th amendment and the Civil War.
Anyone have any recommendations?

If you follow me on instagram(i am lucky13amy), you would know that over the past week or so
Erics' family has been going through his grandparent's
house and trying to divide things up + trying to start to get the house ready to sell.
(I need to do a whole series of posts on what we have got from them!).

I am seriously overwhelmed with all of the stuff sitting in my dining room right now that I need
to find a place for.
Like, seriously overwhelmed.
We have ended up with some really cool + amazing things though.
(Did you see the cookie jar + recipe box that belonged to Eric's grandma here in this post?)
I am so grateful for the things we got and that we will be able to pass down to our kids one day--
now I just need to figure out where in the world all of it will go!

In the mean time, I think I am going to put my hair up, yoga pants on(not for yoga, mind you)
put some records on and get to ORGANIZING.
Yes, speaking of records-- I got a turn table for the living room finally and I couldn't be happier.
I had my own but it broke a few years ago-- and Eric has one in his little man cave of course,
but I really needed my own again.
We have been loving it-- nothing turns the day around like listening to Grease on vinyl, let me tell ya.

Oh- and just because I am loving this today, so simple + oh, so true...

Happy Tuesday to you...Now go and have a great day.
Thanks for stopping by for coffee today, I think I'm about ready for a second cup already... this mama has a little list of things
to accomplish today. Wish me luck!

  6. I am right there with you on getting back in a routine. I also have a todo list a mile long, lots or goals and projects for the year...but a pile high of dishes and laundry stopping me from doing it the fun stuff. Oh well such is life.
