NASHVILLE IN PICTURES

Friday, December 25, 2015

Oh, Nashville...
Earlier in the month we went to Tennessee for a wedding and could have stayed much longer than three nights and still would have wished we had more time there!
Honky Tonks, cowboy hats and live music everywhere and so much to do/see/eat/drink.
There really were a lot of cowboy hats, don't get me wrong, but there was so much more there than just the country music scene- And just for the record, I am not much of a country music fan myself, but any music scene is pretty cool in my book.
I am so happy my friend got married and I got to go to Nashville for the wedding!
We came across some seriously cool shops, delicious homemade biscuits, The Ryman Auditorium in person, a beautiful evening December wedding, live music, good drinks and super yummy coffee- Those were just a few of my favorite things about Nashville.
At the very top of my list though would have to be the bar with the skee ball machine AND the photo booth. Seriously?
Beer + skee ball + a  booth = Heaven.

The first night we stayed at a super cool little converted apartment in East Nashville that we found on airbnb- my first experience using airbnb and will definitely do it again!
*Photos 1, 14, 15 and 22 are from the airbnb rental, it was functional, clean and it was decorated so cute- major bonus points for the super cute decor.
Also- East Nashville? Loved it, some of my favorite places we went were there and I can't wait to go explore there some more again next time.
I most definitely see a Girl's Trip to Nashville with all my best girlfriends in the future !

One Super-Quick Night Away

Sunday, January 11, 2015

A couple of weeks ago we escaped for just one night away to a town less than an hour away.
I would've loved to go much, much farther... Like to another State at the very least, but we only had about 24 hours...
So another city it was.

It was just a; "Hey guys let's jump in the car and go somewhere for the night but it's gotta be close" kind of thing.
Sometimes that is totally + completely necessary for me.
If I can get out of the house and my usual surroundings just for even 24 hours, it's like a jump start, or a reboot or something for me.
I am literally less stressed, more relaxed and in a different head space within that short amount of time.
Don't you  LOVE  when you are able to do that?
I looove that.

So we ate at our favorite restaurant, Schooner's, that just happens to have the the best corn fritters ever.
Like, EVER ever.
We got some really yummy cookies at Insomnia Cookies, my favorite was the peanut butter cup cookie. Oh my God.
We were a little bummed that we were just barely out of their delivery area, but we were able to stop by the next day so it was all good.
But seriously, warm cookies delivered to your door until 3:00 am?
Hell yes.
Now why didn't I think of that?!

And there was also hotel swimming and hanging out at the bookstore... It was good.
Just what the doctor ordered.

Getting Out Of Dodge

Friday, February 21, 2014

So, this past weekend was a long weekend for us, a long 4-day Holiday weekend and I was lucky enough to get out of
Dodge for two whole nights and 3 glorious days with a friend.
And yes, I did say glorious.... because it really was.
I mean is getting away from your regular, same-old routine ever not glorious?

I think not.
I mean... impossible.

{ Wait...what? California Donut Company? I am still dying over this one!!! }

It really doesn't matter where we were going... this was no beach vacation, there was no airplane, no change of
climate or time zone...
Just a few hours from home, a road trip, but it was just what I needed.
So, so good.
And the thing is, we have both been to St. Louis countless times,  but this weekend was filled with new(to us) neighborhoods,
off the beaten path, new areas filled with so much character + inspiration.
I have a serious  L O V E  for old buildings, dive bars, unique restaurants and shops and vintage signs...
Oh, the vintage signs and falling down buildings are two of my most favorite things in the world.
Seriously though, I really did say in the world.

I'm a little bit mad I didn't take my Nikon.... but my phone did the trick and just so ya know, my new favorite iphone app
is VSCO CAM ... love, love, love it.
Simple, easy to use and some of my most FAVORITE filters ever.

Oh, St. Louis you were so good to us.
We will be back soon... very soon.

Happy Friday.... Have a GREAT weekend!

McCormick's Creek State Park, Indiana

Wednesday, September 25, 2013

Our annual trip tot McCormick's Creek State Park is one of my favorite weekends of the year, every year.
This year we had absolutely beautiful Fall-like weather and it was just perfect-- exactly what you would want for the middle of September.
The water fall, the hay ride, the trails, all the cousins, the freedom to run around the park and back and forth between the cabins, walking to
the playground at night with flashlights, telling ghost stories in the cabin... it is all just a magical weekend, really.

Until next year, Indiana... we can't wait!
