A good day starts off with waking up at just the right time, not too early and not too late,
 after a good night's sleep.
{And with my new-found insomnia, a night of good sleep is a very good thing}
The kids watching cartoons and Eric watching the Tour de France while
 I make french toast for everyone.
French toast and hot coffee and a little Pinterest daydreaming.
Eric and the kids are working in the yard when I remembered the Farmer's Market.
I never remember the Farmer's Market in time, but today I did.
Yipppeee!

{ummm...yeah, that's really close... too close. ouch.}

A solo drive on a sunny day, looking at big fluffy clouds and listening to Rumours.
Loud...because it's only me in the car.
 I leave the Farmer's Market with peaches, green beans, mustard greens and red onions.

And a bouquet of flowers for me; zinnias and some other flowers that I have no idea what
 they are, and herbs. Oh, the basil smells so good. I do love basil.
My flowers are now in a pitcher on my dining room table, flowers instantly make me happy.

It was a good, good day.
I love Saturdays.

Saturday Plans::

Saturday, March 20, 2010

Today is busy and tomorrow is open...just the way I like it. I love having one day of the weekend with no plans, so anything is possible. And by open,  I mean maybe I will have a chance to go antiquing for a couple of hours by myself, that's what I really mean. This morning we are heading out of town to a bridal shower for my cousin;  me, my mom, my sister and Charlotte, just the girls. I'm looking forward to a day of hanging out with my aunts and cousins, always a good time.
Oh, and guess what I learned yesterday? The husband reads this, he really does. I had a bit of a rough day yesterday and last night he asked if I wanted to go see Alice In Wonderland tonight...I  mentioned that here a couple of days ago....and he already asked his mom & dad to babysit.
Yay....I can't wait!
And speaking of reading this blog, when I changed my template earlier this week my followers thingy popped back up on the bottom, not sure how, but scroll down and look at it. Awww....it's kind of sad, isn't it? 15 followers? I think if I ever make it into the 20's I am going to celebrate by having  a give-away of some kind!
Hope everyone has a great weekend...any big plans?

Antiquing With The Girls

Wednesday, October 14, 2009

Last Saturday we had nothing going on and Eric knew I had some Birthday errands to do and planned to be at home with the kids so I had a whole day (well-not the whole day) free. It was a beautiful day and I suddenly had the urge to go antiquing (what errands?) so I called my sister to see if her and my niece had anything going on. They were finishing up hair cuts and then were also fReE for the rest of the day...she said they would head on over as soon as they were done. This is rare to have a day that neither of us had anything else to do already, that the husbands could stay home with the kids, etc. I love days like those when you didn't really have anything planned but they end up being a great day. So we did get the necessary errands out of the way first and then hit our favorite antique stores. We had a lot of fun looking around, finding some pretty cool things, some a little funny, some kind of creepy and some that were exactly what we were looking for. This was my 9-year old niece Drew's first real day out antiquing with the girls and hopefully the first of many trips together. Antique stores, lunch with pie for dessert and a few really good bargains...now that is a good Saturday!

Sunny Saturday

Saturday, October 10, 2009

We just realized yesterday that we had absolutely nothing to do today, no plans. We have a birthday party to go to on Sunday and that is it as far as actual obligations and that is such a nice feeling after being so busy the last few weekends. Today I am going to run a few errands as we have another Birthday around here Tuesday for someone who is soon to be three (gasp) and I have a "Pink Party" to get ready for. Also today is Ten on Ten  and luckily I remembered last night so I charged my batteries and I'm ready to go. Oh and it is pretty chilly here today but the sun is out  and it is not raining and that is all that matters to me. Hope you have a Happy Saturday!
