{Feelin' Kinda Fallish}

Wednesday, September 8, 2010

So I am totally lusting after all things Fall these days.
The weather was perfectly Fall-like over the weekend but it's not just the weather
...it's that feeling.
That anticipation of the season to come.

Truth be told, I am always sad to see Summer go
but since it is inevitable, I am looking forward to...

 brown and orange
 toasty and plaid
 corduroy and football games
hot chocolate and coffee
caramel apples and pumpkins
apple orchards
thinking about Halloween costumes
dressing my girl in cute skirts and tights
new brown boots (for me)
apple and pumpkin pies
two October Birthdays
dark nail polish and jean jackets
cute scarves
Fall decorations
red, yellow and orange leaves
crisp air.

Camp fires and S'mores. Ahhh...the smell of a campfire is one of my most favorite things.
 Ever.
I mean, right up there with that newborn baby smell.
And the S'mores?
 Yum.

Okay, so Fall does not officially begin until September 22, still a few weeks away.
But I think I'm feeling ready now.
When will Fall be coming to your neck of the woods?
And tell me, what is your most favorite thing about Fall?

A Happy Friday:

Friday, March 5, 2010

Fruit salad brought to us this morning by my sister-in-law...yum!
Another sunny day...it is almost 50 today and people are walking around in short-sleeves
A morning walk with the kids
Fresh chocolate chip muffins for breakfast (but not for me)
Actually hearing the birds chirping
My first sighting of something blooming!
And looking forward to:
Friends in town, picking out a paint color for our bedroom, trying to sneak in some antiquing this weekend, the Oscars Sunday and trying to watch a couple more Oscar-nominated movies with Eric before Sunday, the promise of a couple more 50 degree days.
What are you looking forward to?

Making My List

Sunday, December 6, 2009

This will be me tomorrow morning except I will have a hot cup of coffee from Starbucks in my  hand and I will be playing the music really loud:

Tomorrow a friend has offered to watch the kids for the day so I could do some Christmas shopping ALONE. Did you hear me? ALONE. Now, I did go out the day after Thanksgiving alone and I ran out yesterday to do a couple quick things too but this is for the day, folks. I'm so excited, I'm thinking I may actually make a little progress tomorrow. I am really hoping to be done earlier than usual this year because I want time to bake and make other gifts closer to the holidays and I don't want to stress about shopping at the last minute like I usually do. Tonight after the kids go to bed I'm going to work on my list and see what all I still need and where I should go tomorrow.
Oh, and what's on my own list? How about acne medicine for someone in their 30's who should not still be getting pimples like this anymore?  The other day when I was in the bathroom getting ready Charlotte got my make-up brush and said; "Don't worry mommy, I'll cover up all your nipples. " She meant pimples. And it was pretty funny so I couldn't even be offended. Wish me luck tomorrow!

The Little Things

Tuesday, November 24, 2009

I do not require big, grand things to make me happy. I'm pretty simple.
Diamonds and fancy jewelry? No.
Fancy new car? No.
Expensive new purses, bags, etc.? No.
(Okay- I do love both shoes and bags but I am more of  a bargain kind of girl!)
Fancy perfume? No.
See, simple.
The things that make me happy are the kids both taking naps, well behaved children while I get my hair cut, a night out with really great friends, a movie date this week with another friend, a smooth, drama-free bedtime for the kids, a clean house. Oh and my sweet husband bringing me home this holiday creamer so I can make my own peppermint mochas. Yum.

Yep, this makes me really happy.
