Okay, let me get the negative complaining part out of the way first and then I will get to some pictures and stuff. I am on day 4 of a headache and growing increasingly grouchy. I am doing a min-detox of sorts that involves: no caffeine, no sugar (well, almost none), grains, starches, etc. I have had no bread, coffee, pop, pasta and almost no dairy (besides two hard-boiled eggs) this week. You name it...I'm not eating it. Now besides the headache, it hasn't been so bad really. But yesterday in the middle of yelling at the kids for fighting for the 356th time I almost cracked and went straight to the kitchen to fix myself some coffee. I felt bad for yelling at them and worse about my headache. Is it really worth the stress? Yes and no. I wanted to make it until Wednesday, three days, and I did. Then I wanted to make it until Friday...and I still might. I did make an exception last night because we had a big family dinner out last night that had been planned for weeks and I knew I was going to get my usual rustic salad with crumbled blue cheese, and I did. I did avoid the bread, appetizers and dessert successfully though. Okay, now I'm done whining. But I still have a headache.
I wanted to share some pictures from Tuesday; The First Unofficial Day of Spring, declared by yours truly. We met my sister and her kids at the park and spent half of the day there. The kids had a blast and were exhausted by the time we got home. It was a beautiful day with just perfect weather.
I think Jill and I actually could have went shopping and came back a couple of hours later and the kids still would have been in the Pine Forest working on that tee-pee structure. Catching frogs, getting wet and muddy, playing on the playground, building a tee-pee, eating cupcakes, playing with your couisns.....very good for the First Unofficial Day of Spring.
Poor you....I'm fiddling with my diet too since my cholesterol is on the rise. That's making me cranking and whine-y too. Hang in there....Friday's only a day away.
ReplyDeleteAnd what an awesome teepee. That's something my kiddos would love. Puttering around in the woods, creating something amazing. It's all good.
How fun this looks!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures of your day. What fun! I love that frog shot!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like an awesome park. And what a super-cool tipi they built! My sisters and I used to build those all the time when we were kids.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures.
ReplyDeleteDetoxing is never fun. I've done it a few times. And I've been close to committing a crime.
Be strong.
Gorgeous pictures, Amy! Good luck with the detox...
ReplyDeleteWow! I've only given up carbs and I'm HATING it. I can't imagine giving up dairy and caffeine, too. You've come this far, you can make it to Friday! You can do it!
ReplyDeleteThat forest is gorgeous! I think my kids could happily spend weeks at that park, as long as they have a few jars of peanut butter. What a great day!
What a cute little frog that is!
ReplyDeleteYou are a brave woman, I have attempted to give up carbs and sugar separately never all at once. GOOD LUCK!
Thank you for the well wishes...I have now made it to Friday with the detox. I am letting myself off the hook Saturday and I'm having a big, FAT cup of coffee! : D
