After The Rain::

Thursday, April 8, 2010

Yesterday we had one of those short late afternoon Spring thunderstorms (I like the morning and afternoon storms but not the ones in the night, our house is really tall and I have a fear that the huge pine tree out back is going to fall on the house during a storm while we are all sleeping. I know, crazy!) complete with lots of thunder, lightning and hail. Big hail. After it stopped the sun was out and it was just beautiful so the kids put on their rain boots and we headed over to the park. They said it was perfect splashing weather, and they were right.
I have been hunting (obsessing) for a tulip tree that I could take pictures of the kids under, preferably not in a stranger's front yard. I found one! These trees might just be the best thing  about Spring, seriously. And they smell sooo good. This is some serious beauty:
               So tell me, what is your absolute most favorite thing about Spring?

  1. Most surely being able to sleep with the windows open.. and letting the air circulate the stuffy winter out of my house.

    My favorites (can't pick just one) are fresh breeze, warm (not hot) sun, open windows, green emerging, flowering trees, bird song, renewed energy...

  5. Dear God, that tree is beautiful! I love everything about Spring. Except the allergies. Those are killing us right now. At least it's beautiful, though!

  7. Those are beautiful photographs! I have never seen a tulip tree,,,those are just awesome...:)

    Where we use to live we had several huge pine trees right near our house. The El Nino storm weather we had that year did blow one of them over, it stopped right before hitting our home! We were very lucky someone UP there was watching out for us!! :)
