{The Beach}

Wednesday, July 21, 2010

Hello there and Happy Wednesday!
I'm back with more vacation pictures.

I told you there were a lot of beach pictures, right?
And did I tell you how hot it was?
Well, it was really hot, I don't have an exact number, but hot.
And camping is really hot, especially in July.
When you can't swim part of the time you are there, it's even hotter.
Anyway, we took full advantage of the beach.

We collected many, many rocks which are now sitting in glass jars on the fireplace mantel along with jars of sand. The rock collecting part was one of our favorite things; rocks of all shapes, sizes and colors. We loved how when we went back to the beach at night the sand felt completely different, it was cool, not hot at all.
There really is nothing better than bare feet in the sand...love that feeling.

I can totally see myself living near the water...the beach, the lake, the ocean. Ahhhhh.
I can just imagine how peaceful it would be to wake up in the morning and walk right out to the water with a cup of coffee, to end your evenings there with a glass of wine while watching the sun go down.
That could do wonders for my state of mind. Seriously.

I  love this picture of Charlotte actually skipping down to the water,  frolicking on the beach.
It's so nice to see your children completely entertained by the outdoors, no toys except maybe a shovel and pail and no television. They could play for hours like this and that is a great thing.

This morning I am sitting here sipping coffee, eating toast with blueberry jam and thinking
about writing out my to-do list.
But I think I'm too lazy to write the list, let alone complete anything on my list.
Instead I think I will do nothing a bit longer, maybe a little more blog reading and Flickr-gazing,
then start to look up ballet classes for the little one to take this Fall.
What's on your to-do list for today?
Or what are you ignoring on your to-do list today?

  1. Beautiful pictures. Looks like y'all had a wonderful time. I have to go through my vacation photos and put some of this crap away today! But that's all I'm putting on my list. I've gotta have some time to lounge around and be lazy some more.

  2. Oh, so gorgeous!!

And, to do lists. Agh. Mine is huge, but I just want to curl up in bed and give it up for the day. Of course, then we would have to all run around naked tomorrow without any food in the house....and I'd feel guilty for all of the other not so essentials that still weren't done.

  3. I am reading blogs and ignoring my 'To Do' list at the moment -- it will still be there later.

I know what you mean about living by the beach -- I would so totally love it -- I am looking forward to our vacation coming soon to spend my yearly allotement of time on the beach.

  4. Cleaning up this messy house...organizing some of my messy spots of paperwork...but trying to muster up the energy to go tackle it first.

Your beach pictures look perfect! I can't pick a favorite one because they all look great! What beautiful memories to have...:)

  7. I'm so with you about living by the water. After a few days by the lake, I've come to the conclusion that I need that to be a permanent occurrence.

    Great pictures, as usual.

  10. Wow! Thank you for indulging us in more beach photos in Michigan, my childhood state!

Today I am getting ready for my daughter's 13th birthday...which seems so odd! How can it be 13, already? Seems like yesterday she was a little something running on the beach like your cute kiddos!

Also, kudos to you Amy for getting so many shots without other people in them, as that is so hard to do!!
