Old-Fashioned Soda Fountain::

Friday, July 23, 2010

When we were in Michigan we went to an old-fashioned Soda Fountain that was in an old pharmacy.
Just like the old days.
The kids had never been to one.
I don't know who was more excited, me or them.
Probably me.
We got strawberry milkshakes and sodas. Sodas with real syrup.

So yesterday I set up an old-fashioned Soda Fountain for the kids at home.
We were super bored and it really is too hot to go outside unless you're in a pool. It's bad.
I just used things I already had around the house, no planning really went into this at all.
The only thing I bought was the ice cream and the cones.
Oh and the soda, I picked those up in Michigan, too.

In the above picture you can see Charlotte's reaction to trying Bubble Up for first time.
She said she thought it was a little too fizzy. Soda is a rare treat for the kids and I think Charlotte has only tried it a couple of times. Don't you just love the vintage bottles?

Wyatt served us.
Ice cream cones, mini or regular, with more sprinkles than you could possibly want. Seriously.
We had to pay him and tip him.
We did, happily.

Wishing everyone a very happy weekend!
This has been a long week, a really long one.
I am ready for a fresh start.
It's just gonna be me and the kids this weekend so we need something fun to do.
And if I haven't said it lately?
Thanks for reading, thanks for your encouragement, comments and kind words.
I really do appreciate it so much. XO

  5. Old fashioned soda fountains are so ace. I dated a boy who lived in a small town with a pharmacy/fountain. You didn't have to pay...they still had "tabs". We put many a sweet treat on his daddy's tab.

I love that blue bread box. Great pictures...all of them. Great way to make lemonade from lemons. Hoping you get a fresh start. *hugs*

  10. We have a true old fashioned soda fountain and a new one pretending to be old fashioned, but it's still just as fun. Playing soda fountain is even better! That's such a cute idea and adorable pictures. And her dress is so cute, too!
