{oh, christmas tree}

Sunday, December 5, 2010

We got our tree this weekend, we went to a small tree farm on a pretty little patch of land and cut our own. I mean,  I didn't do any cutting but I did the tree-approving and the picture-taking, that's my job. It was a chilly, dreary day and it started snowing just a tiny bit while we were there. This year we got a Colorado Blue Spruce that turned out to be the perfect size and the best smelling tree we have ever had. Oh, how I love the smell of a fresh Christmas tree, it almost outweighs my guilt over cutting down a live tree every year. Okay, but the best thing about getting our tree? Ready for this?

The Wagoneer with the tree on top! Is that not the cutest thing ever? I love these pictures.  And I have to confess:  When I first saw this Wagoneer years ago, one of the reasons I wanted it was because I could just picture us driving through the snow with our Christmas tree on top. A lot more snow would have made the pictures absolutely perfect but oh well, it totally lived up to my fantasy. Happy, happy weekend to you...hope you got to do something fun. Is your tree up?  Decorations out? Any Christmas projects in the works yet? I'd love to hear all about it. The lights are on the tree and there are now about 10 boxes strewn across the living room floor...time to trim this tree!

  13. Great photos!! I don't think you should feel guilty about cutting a tree. They plant more and in my mind it's greener than an artificial tree with the chemicals used to produce one.

    We're going out next weekend to cut one. It's our family tradition too and I just let the kids go at it with the decorations! I don't even change things around when they are done.

    Peace to you and your family!

  16. Those pictures are AWESOME!! You should have cut your tree down in this neck of the woods...you would have had TONS of snow in your shot! Come look at my last two posts to see what I mean!!!
    Enjoy the day Amy!!

  19. Very beautiful shots!!! Looks like a lot of great memories for your family here...:)

    We have not bought a real tree in ages. I miss the smell of them for sure. My daughter bought a real wreath to go on the inside of our door so we can have the Christmas pine scent!! :)
