In Black and White....

I guess I don't talk about my 365 too much here, huh?  So, here's a little update...but first I had go to my Flickr account and go through my pictures to figure out what day I am on. Drum roll, please...Day 158, baby. Still going strong. It has not been as difficult as I thought it could be...until lately. It's purely the winter and the weather and being inside all the time. Like, most of the day. Ughhh. And the whole lack of sunlight thing is the worst. It's really hard this no sun thing. And I'm not just talking about in photography but in my life in general. Oh, but that's another post for another day. I kind of purposely don't keep track of the days I think, I just figured that one out about myself. It's more overwhelming when you look at how many days you have to go, especially when it's a lot...SO...I know I started in August, right around my birthday, so I know I have until August, which is quite a while still. And that's all I need to know. And that's working for me, the whole not thinking about it too much thing.

I love that rock wall in the fourth picture. It's at a house in the block behind us, I love it and have taken lots of pictures of it, in every season. The wall goes all around this huge house and it's so pretty, they also have an in-ground swimming pool with that same wall around it, very cool. Now I sound a little neighborhood stalkerish there, don't I? Hope everyone is having a great weekend and a happy Sunday. The sun is shining a little and I hope to have a chance to sneak away with my camera today...if only for a little while.

  1. Haha, those little dollies in there bed. Scenes like that I find here all the time too. Everywhere. With real little blankets and sock and everything that can work as a blanket. Precious!

That first shot is beautiful too. Her eyes, wow.

Turns out I really love black and white. I don't shoot that much in black and white. But you inspired me to do it a little more. Thanks!

  2. Wonderful photos, Amy, and they all look fabulous in b&w! I also can't wait for winter to be over and have a little more sun or at least day light - that already helps to feel a little better! I hope the sun will come out and shine for you! Have a wonderful Sunday!

  3. I love the toys sleeping in bed. When I was little, I was a firm believer that my toys came to life when I was away because of Raggedy Anne. Now, my girls believe it because of Woody and Buzz. :)

  7. The black and whites always feel so... real... I don't know how they feel more real than color. Maybe because you see the essence of the photo? I don't know...
    Well done :)

  9. I've just caught up on all that I've missed.

I LOVE your kitchen. We have the same cabinets...mine are no longer bare wood. They have been painted a nice eggshell that really opens up the space.

I'm so lonesome for summer. SO LONESOME!

Your 365 is looking great. I'm on year #2. It has been a chore the past few weeks for many of the reasons you mentioned.

    I've missed you!

  15. I just spent some time scrolling through a few of your posts and I wanted to say that I LOVE your blog. A couple of my bloggy friends have been participating in your virtual coffee and since I was considering joining, I thought I'd come over here and see how you ran it. I love your pictures and the commentary and your awesome 50's kitchen (even if it has too much wood.) Good luck on your 365. I just started mine at the beginning of January. 24 days down and a whole lot more to go!
