I have to say that I am glad it is Friday because I am kinda ready to put this week behind me.
I just remembered that along with Wednesday's episode, I also forgot to play tooth fairy on Sunday night...what? ughhhhhhhh.
Good Lord, I need a vacation. Or something.
But first-- I have to say thank you, thank you, thank you for all the sweet comments yesterday.
I have to tell you, they truly made me feel better.
I know I might sound a tad bit melodramatic, but I felt just awful Wednesday night and Thursday.
Guilty, sad and a little depressed.
I can usually shake these feelings off pretty quickly but then sometimes it's harder.
I know it may sound like a small thing, but when you are feeling really bad about yourself and
you have people that want to make you feel better, who have kind words and encouragement,
that is really something to be thankful for.
And I am.
But today is a new day and I am moving on.
So, besides forgetting lots of important stuff and feeling super bad about my role as a parent,
this week I have also....
watched 5 episodes of Three's Company
got totally caught up on the laundry
cleaned up dog pee no less than 10 times
went out for a beer with a friend and didn't get home until 1:30 am
bought a few stocking stuffers for Christmas (!)
had my first peppermint mocha of the season
Read this book and loved it
went through the kid's clothes and finally switched them out for the season
Dropped off three bags of clothes/junk to be donated
So yeah, it has been a full week.
Not all bad.
Not all good.
I am ready for the weekend though, for real.
I think we might have a date night this weekend...fingers crossed on that one.
Apparently I need it.
Happy Friday everyone, hope you have a great weekend.
"Come and knock on our door....."

Loved The Red Tent, so based on your sentiments, I just added that book to my wish list! Thank you! I hope you have a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeletei remember to be tooth fairy like one in three times. when they say, "hey, the tooth fairy didn't come" i cram a dollar in my fist, and then go in their rooms with an, "are you suuuuure?", pretending to feel around under the pillow and then plant it there..."why don't you look again?" so bad, i know. thank goodness its the weekend. enjoy it!
ReplyDeletehello lovely girl- i can't believe i've just read the last post that i missed and i'm actually crying....!
ReplyDeletei got to the part where you rang eric in the park and the tears just rolled down my cheeks...you see i missed audrey's christmas play last year- the one she was doing a special dance in - the one i had made all the school costumes for...the one that you wait for with such pride and excitement...
i know how you feel- different reason, but i still missed it...you are a wonderful loving doting mother who missed one moment of W's big long beautiful life...
huge hugs and he only cried bc he could see how upset you were- not because he himself was already upset about it all...you know that .....
