(Filled)With Love

Tuesday, February 12, 2013

I thought I would show you a little bit of the LOVE going on around here today and
what I still have in the works for Thursday for my three favorite people.

///////
But first, let it be noted here, that for me personally, I'm not super into Valentine's Day
for myself but I do like to make it a little special for the kids.
loved  the Valentine's Day parties at school when I was a kid; my very favorite thing was
making those shoe box mailboxes.  Ahhhh.... the memories.

I made these super easy paper candy-filled Valentine's for the kids today.
I am not the mom that stays up until midnight working on these kinda projects--
it's gotta be fairly quick and easy..... and I'm in!
Just cut two hearts out of brown craft paper( I just used a paper bag),
stitch it up most of the way around, add candy +  finish stitching it shut.
Super easy and super cute.

Tonight we are going to work on some special Valentine's for their teachers and grandparents.
Glitter , glue ribbon + tape... all the fixin's for the perfect Valentine.

Thursday night we have Lego Club at school so we won't be doing anything special
+ we won't have a whole lot of time,  but I am going to make my 3 favorite people a special treat.
The kids(and Eric) all love brownies so I am going to make them heart-shaped brownies in these
cute little tins-- yet another thing we got from Eric's grandparent's house recently.
Uhh... brownies with chocolate frosting + sprinkles?
They will be so happy when they come home from school on Thursday and see their little
personal brownies.

Do you have any Valentine's Day traditions you like to do for or with your kids/husband/family?
Any fun crafting ideas?
Favorite Valentine candy? Activities? Meals?
Tell me all about it... I wanna hear!

Happy Tuesday, y'all, hope it's a good one.

Hearts For Days....

Monday, January 28, 2013

I've been cutting out lots of hearts... lots and lots and lots.
And making lots of little garlands.
I can't stop, I think they are so cute.

There are some in the Shop still and I will be adding some more soon.
Sipping my tea, listening to podcasts on Stitcher while cutting + gluing...
It's kind of relaxing.

I'm headed to the Post Office today,  so you still have time to order and have them shipped out today.
Good thing about these little things are that they shouldn't take long to get to YOU at all!
This is how they will come to you--
They can also be sent as a gift with a sweet note inside.

Happy Monday, hope it's a pleasant, non-stressful, quick + awesome day.
Come back here tomorrow for Coffee, I'd love to have ya.

hi there.
Happy Monday.
The sun is shining, it is in the 40's today...the 40's and let me tell you, it feels like an actual heat wave.
I get to spend the day/evening with my three favorite people in the world.
What more could a girl ask for?
Wishing you a day filled with all kinds of sweetness and love.
XO
Virtual Coffee is tomorrow,  but today you should go get your coffe fix over at Kim's place .
Lots to love over there!

{My Vintage Valentine}

Monday, February 7, 2011

Happy Monday!
Well, I have been crafting away over here on this cold Monday afternoon and I thought I would show you what I have been working on. I have quite a little collection of vintage Valentine's because I buy them every time I see them,  I just can't seem to pass them up. The problem is, I might have a few too many so I'm having a bit of a hard time coming up with different ways to display them.

I wish I would have thought about this a little earlier because it would have been nice to be able to display this all month long, not just for a week. But that's okay. I think it turned out super cute.
I scour antique stores and flea markets for these vintage valentine's but you can also find a lot of cool reproductions, like these here. I do love these but the reason I love the real vintage ones is because they have a past. There are notes and inscriptions and dates on them. Some are written in cursive...or written crookedly and even mis-spelled. Oh, how I love that. And I wonder who wrote them, who they were writing them to and where they are now. I would love to know the story behind some of them.

But anyway, you can only hang up just so many of these on little clothes lines around the house, so I needed something else to do with some of them. So I gathered up some of my Valentine's, a wreath and some yarn. I wrapped the yarn around the wreath, hot glued lace on one side and stuck some Valentine's on the bottom using double-sided tape. I tried to be careful not to put the tape over any of the writing. I want to add some kind of flowers on the side still but just haven't gotten around to that yet.  Total cost for wreath = $5 and total time was probably less than an hour but hard to say because I got interrupted 1.5 million times. At least. The sun isn't out much today and my pictures are looking a little rough, sorry about that. Oh, I can't wait for the sun to be back on a regular basis!

What an easy, quick and cheap little project. Now that's what I'm talking about.
Hope everyone's week is off to a good start, see you here tomorrow for Virtual Coffee!

Spread The Love::

Thursday, February 11, 2010

Yesterday was full of hearts and love. We painted hearts and there was lots of red paint, pink paint and way too much glitter. Wyatt worked on his Valentine's for school and yes, I did let him get Spongebob (quite reluctantly). He sat down and spread all of his Valentine's all over the dining room table and got right to work signing his name, folding them over, closing them and adding a sticker. 30 of them, that's hard work. We still need to make treats for the grandparents but that might have to wait until Saturday as Charlotte is sick and we don't want to be passing out germ-filled heart-shaped brownies, that wouldn't be nice. When Wyatt got home from school today he dumped out his bag of Valentine's from his classmates and we read them all and examined the candy. He gave all the Princess ones to Charlotte and she was so excited, I think she actually thinks they were sent home for her and we didn't tell her otherwise. Hope you all are getting your fair share of red, pink, hearts and lots of glitter this week, too.
