{Virtual Coffee}

Hello there. It's Tuesday morning, time for coffee.
I think I will be having a homemade cinnamon dolce latte in my favorite cup this morning.
Do you realize how much face time my favorite cup gets here on my little blog?
Yep, love that cup. And yes, I am fully aware that I will probably break it now.
This is actually my second one and I know it won't be my last one.
I really need to order a few more from Crate & Barrel before they stop carrying it.
Why don't I just do it? I am such a procrastinator.

So if we were really meeting for coffee this morning...

I would ask how your weekend was... Did you do anything fun?
The kids and I went to the beach for a few hours Saturday morning, we watched quite a bit of
the Tour de France as it finally finished up on Sunday. I actually really like watching the race
with Eric and we fantasize about going to France to see it in person one day.
Oh and we had a date night Saturday night which I just talked about yesterday.
Sunday afternoon I had a few free hours to myself at home while Eric and the kids were
at his parent's house...I cleaned the house and folded laundry and watched some of this...

Love, love, love me some Laverne & Shirley. Seriously one of my most favorite shows ever.
Sunday morning I made these awesome homemade blueberry muffins for breakfast, they are so good. Eric loves these muffins and since he is a way better cook than me I like it when he actually
requests me to bake something in particular. You should try these some day, they are easy and
so good, the topping really makes them extra good.

This week it is still supposed to be pretty hot but not quite as hot as last week, thank goodness.
Last week we spent a lot of time inside and I could really tell it in the kid's behavior-okay and maybe in mine, too. It's bad when it is so gross out that the kids can't burn off some of that extra energy
like they need to, definitely one of the downfalls of this hot, hot Summer weather.

Friday we made our own paints and a big ol' mess, courtesy of Alicia.
The kids loved making their own paints and since we didn't have any food coloring we
used kool-aid instead which made the paints smell so good and worked just fine.
Lots of messy fun. If it would not have been 1.5 million degrees outside
we definitely would have done it out on the patio though.

Well, thanks for joining me for coffee this morning, I do enjoy your company.
Tell me what you have been up to and what is going on in your little corner of the world.
Happy, happy Tuesday.

  4. I love your coffee cup, it's just so cute and simple. And I love that you have an espresso machine to make that latte with...kinda jealous about that :)

Painting looks like fun! I like that you made your own paint. Your kids are really going to appreciate the little things when they get older :)

My weekend was uneventful--saw a movie, hung out with friends and family, and stayed in bed on Sunday. I don't mind lazy weekends sometimes but this weekend I was itching to get out. Maybe sometime soon!

    Thanks for coffee!

  6. Nice art-work by the kiddos! I can imagine it must have been really sticky! But I guess sweet, sticky kool-aid is better that sweaty sticky from the hot sun! :0)
Sounds like you had yourself a pretty good weekend. Muffins, date night, and free time? Lucky girl!

  10. Last week's heat really did prevent any outside-the-home activities. No park. Even the pool seemed kind of unpleasant, because the baby pool got to about 90 degrees, and I just didn't feel like making the trip. Also I made the dumb decision to put on makeup one day last week, and it melted off. Ahh, Illinois.

  11. Your coffee cup is quite a celebrity at this point-- I think you should place that order for a few replacements for the future-- they always inevitably chip or break. Not that I should talk, given that I am the Queen of Procrastination... I am so out of the loop-- I didn't even know that the Tour de France was happening. Too much Mommy on the brain. I used to enjoy watching it. The Kool Aid painting sure looks like a fun activity!! We did a lot of swimming to cool off, and thankfully the heat wave has now passed, although its supposed to get hot and humid again over the next few days. Thanks for coffee! Have a good week!
