Abandoned.

Sunday, February 24, 2013

I have a thing for abandoned buildings-- rusty, old, overgrown, falling down, graffiti-ed up... I love it all.
I came across this building last week by accident and I think it might just make a great back-drop for pictures/portraits
when the weather warms up just a bit.
I was so glad that I thought to grab my Nikon before I left.
One of the (many) things I dislike about Winter is the lack of natural light for taking pictures outside.
I guess the freezing weather isn't really a favorite either.

Happy Sunday!
Hope everyone has a great day.

This is what we'll be doing tonight....
How about you?

Be Happy.

try to find a little bit of happiness...
of contentment, peace, thankfulness or satisfaction today.
even if it's just a moment.
i'm gonna give it my best shot.

Come back here tomorrow morning and join me
 for  a cup of coffee.
 see ya then.

Sunday Mornin'

Sunday, May 15, 2011

Just a little Sunday Mornin' inspiration for ya, courtesy of Pinterest.
Ummmm...do you think there is a 12-Step program for Pinterest?
I think an intervention might be needed. Seriously.
It is another rainy, dreary day here and I need a little color this morning.
Sitting on the couch in my pj's, drinking coffee while the kids watch Tom & Jerry.
I love lazy Sunday mornings. Don't you?

{Inspiration}

Friday, April 15, 2011

When it comes to inspiration, it is often feast or famine.
Sometimes I can't scrounge up enough inspiration to take one decent picture.
Sometimes I take twenty in a row that I think are pretty damn good.

A fabric store is usually an instant shot of inspiration.
Oh, I love fabric stores.
The buttons, the patterns, the thread, the ribbons and trim.
The colors, the prints and the endless possibilities.
Imagining all the things I would buy or make...or beg my mom to make.

Antique stores are full of inspiration for me.
And old homes, old buildings and worn and faded signs.
It could be a song, a pattern, a book, old records or a stack of magazines.
The weather is a huge source of inspiration too--or not.
The Winter is very difficult for me but Spring is full of inspiration;
the blooms and buds...and finally seeing green. The warmth and the sunshine.
Nature and the world outside, you don't have to look far at all to be inspired.
What inspires you?
Where do you look when you feel totally and completely uninspired?

*******
What are you up to this weekend?
We are looking at storms and rain and tornado warnings here.
We are also looking at a weekend of nothing planned, nothing at all.
I love those weekends.
Hope yours is a good one!

{Saturday Inspiration}

I'm pretty short on words lately.
Wow, it's been a week.
And not even a bad week, just a super busy one.
We had plans to go out to dinner tonight to celebrate Wyatt's Birthday (it's tomorrow)
but instead he decided he wants to stay home, watch a movie and order pizza.
I'm kinda glad.

I hope you all are having a nice weekend.
And I hope you're not crazy-busy.
But if you are, I hope you're still having fun.

Oh, you can find my Weekend Photo Challenge here.
Happy Saturday!

******
We are going away for the weekend and
today (Thursday) on my way home form volunteering at school
I ran through all the things I needed to do still:

go to the store
bake muffins to take along with
 cookies or brownies
finish and fold laundry
pack for the kids and i
call the kennel about boarding the dogs
pick up the whole house
go to the bank
find something for Wyatt to wear for "blue day" tomorrow
send money for field trip tomorrow (3 days late)
get gas
bathe kids
fix supper.

Well, I did get some of them done but do you see what I am doing right now
instead of packing? or showering? or putting laundry away?
I'm so bad.
If you ever want me to teach you how to procrastinate I can so do that.
That, I am very, very good at.
Happy Friday everyone!
